Metaphor- मेटाफर – रूपक –  रूपक  अलंकार में दो भिन्न भिन्न (Different) तरह वस्तुओं  की तुलना (Comparison) की जाती है लेकिन इसमें तुलना (compare) करने वाले शब्दों (words) जैसे – As, Like, So, As…as, So..as का प्रयोग नहीं किया जाता है

 Example- Life is not a bed of rose .

                  All the word,s a stage.

Metaphor- मेटाफर – रूपक – (In a mataphor two things of the different kinds are compared but words of comparison are not used at all )

 Example- Life is a dream.

                 Camel is the ship of the desert.
