English Grammar में Tense यानि काल की जानकारी बहुत जरूरी होती है, इसके लिये आपको टेन्स के प्रकार और Forms of Tenses (काल के रूप) के बारे में जानना चाहिये टेन्स – समय और परिस्थिति के अनुसार तीन प्रकार होते हैं: 1. Present Tense (वर्तमान काल)
- Present Indefinite (सामान्य वर्तमान) – ता है , ती है , ते है

सीता छत पर नाचती है – Seeta dances on the roof .
- वह स्कूल जाता है – He goes to the school .

- Present Continous (अपूर्ण वर्तमान) – रहा है,रही है ,रहे है Is ,Are ,Am तथा Verb क्रिया की frist form में Ing का प्रयोग करते है

लड़कियां गाना गा रही है – The girls are singing the song .
- राधा कक्षा में पढ़ा रही है – Radha is teaching in the class .

- Present Perfect (पूर्ण वर्तमान) – चूका है , चुकी है , चुके है , या , यी , ये verb (क्रिया ) की Third form लगाते है –
- रोहन ने एक सांप मार दिया है – Rohan has killed a snake .
- तुम आगरा जा चुके हो -You have gone to Agra.
- Present Perfect Continous (सतत् पूर्ण वर्तमान) – रहा है,रही है,रहे है , एकवचन में Ha been तथा बहुवचन में Have been तथा verb क्रिया की first form में ing का प्रयोग करते है (Certain) निश्चित समय के लिए Since तथा (Uncertain) अनिश्चित समय के लिए For का प्रयोग करते है
- तुम दो घंटे से अपना कार्य कर रहे हो – you have been doing your work for two hours
- सोहन 2 बजे से सो रहा है – Sohan has been sleeping since 2 o, Clock
Past Tense (भूत काल)
- Past Indefinite (सामान्य भूत) – ता था, ती थी, ते थे, आ , ई, ये, यी, ये तथा Verb (क्रिया) की Second form का प्रयोग करते है

उसने मैच खेला – He play the match .
- तुम कल यहाँ आये – You came hear yesterday .

- Past Continous (अपूर्ण भूत) – रहा था,रही थी,रहे थे Verb क्रिया की frist form में ing का प्रयोग करते है

वर्तिका रो रही थी – Vartika was weeping .
- मोर छत पर नाच रहा था – The peacock was dancing on the roof .

- Past Perfect (पूर्ण भूत) – चूका था,चुकी थी, चुके थे, Verb क्रिया की Third form का प्रयोग करते है
- मैं खाना खा चुका था – I had eaten food .
- Past Perfect Continous (सतत् पूर्ण भूत) – रहा था ,रही थी ,रहे थे , तथा verb क्रिया की first form में ing का प्रयोग करते है (Certain) निश्चित समय के लिए Since तथा (Uncertain)अनिश्चित समय के लिए For का प्रयोग करते है
- मैं सोमवार से इतिहास पढ रहा हूँ – I had been reading History since Monday .
Future Tense (भविष्य काल)
- Future Indefinite (सामान्य भविष्य) – गा,गी,गे, आदि I , We के साथ shall बाकी के साथ Will का प्रयोग किया जाता है

वह कल दिल्ली जायेगा – He will go to Delhi tomorrow.
- मैं आज दफ्तर नहीं आऊंगा -I shell not come to office Today .

- Future Continous (अपूर्ण भविष्य) – रहा होगा,रही होगी,रहे होंगे, I , We के साथ shall be बाकी के साथ Will be का प्रयोग किया जाता है

वह पत्र लिख रही होगी – He will be writhing the letter .
- मैं अंग्रेजी पढ़ रहा हूँगा – I shell be reading English .

- Future Perfect (पूर्ण भविष्य) – चुका होगा, चुकी होगी, चुके होंगे Verb क्रिया की Third form का प्रयोग करते ही तथा I,We के साथ shall have बाकी के साथ Will have का प्रयोग किया जाता है

- वह घर जा चुका होगा – He will have gone to home .

- वह 2 बजे से मेरी प्रतीक्षा कर रहा होगा – He will have been waiting for me since 2 o ,clock.
- मैं 5 घंटे से सो रहा हुंगा – I shell have been sleeping for five hours.
