उपमा अलंकार हिंदी और अंग्रेजी में – Simile in Hindi and English

Simile-शिमली – उपमा – उपमा अलंकर में दो भिन्न भिन्न (Different) तरह के प्राणियों (Creatures) तथा स्थानों (Places) की तुलना (Comparison) की जाती है जिन वाक्यों तुलना (Comparison) शब्द आते है वहां उपमा अलंकर (Simile) होता है
 Example-As, Like, So, As…as, So..as
Simile-शिमली – उपमा – (In a Simile a comparison is made between two different objective which havr at least one poinr in common )
 Example-Life is Like A dream.
इसमें जिन्दगी की तुलना एक सपने से की गई है इसलिए यहाँ उपमा(Simile) अलंकार है
Example– Rana pratap Was as brave as a loin.
इसमें रना प्रताप के बहादुरी की तुलना एक शेर से की गई है यहाँ उपमा भी (Simile) अलंकार है

A simile is a figure of speech that compares two different things using “like” or “as” in English and “जैसे” or “सा/सी” in Hindi.

As cunning as a fox Very clever and deceitful लोमड़ी की तरह चालाक बहुत चतुर और धोखेबाज
As tall as a giraffe Very tall जिराफ़ की तरह लंबा बहुत लंबा
As quiet as a mouse Very silent चूहे की तरह चुप बहुत चुपचाप
As deep as the ocean Very deep (emotionally or physically) सागर की तरह गहरा बहुत गहरा
As bright as the sun Very bright सूरज की तरह चमकीला बहुत चमकदार
As soft as cotton Very soft रुई की तरह मुलायम बहुत मुलायम

What is the Difference Between Simile and Metaphor?

  • A simile uses “like” or “as” for comparison (e.g., “He is as fast as a cheetah.”)

  • A metaphor directly states that one thing is another (e.g., “He is a cheetah on the track.”)
